Stephanie Josie is thankful to equip herself with the tools necessary to assist those who are recovering from addiction. After earning her Keiser University Paralegal Studies degree in 2018 and her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2020, Josie, a West Palm Beach campus student, is working toward her Master of Science degree in Organizational Psychology.
“Not only have I acquired the education needed to jumpstart my professional goals, but Keiser University’s curriculum has also benefited me personally by enhancing my communication and problem-solving abilities,” said Josie who recently joined The Counseling and Recovery Center in Fort Pierce, Florida as an Intervention Specialist and recognizes an increased need for healthcare professionals due to the COVID-019 pandemic.
“I feel services are needed more during the pandemic because individuals are triggered by additional stressors. I am honored and humbled to be a part of their healing journey,” reflected Josie, who was employed with the Children’s Home Society for over two years prior to her current role, and credits Keiser University staff members for their encouragement. “Student Services Director Elizabeth Houlihan and Associate Director Michelle Chung have been supportive and proud of every accomplishment I’ve achieved. I’m not sure if they realize the positive impact they have made by consistently portraying a high level of pleasant professionalism, but it gave me an extra nudge to continue my academic journey. Because of this, I’m always excited to share updates with them as I continually strive to be the best version of myself,” she said.
