Keiser University Chancellor and CEO Dr. Arthur Keiser recently shared insights with Florida Trend relating to the institution’s ‘students first’ philosophy and its overall impact as Florida’s largest nonprofit university since co-founding the institution over 45 years ago.

Keiser shared the foundational values that have contributed to Keiser University’s role of serving approximately 20,000 students. He also provided an overview of the growth of the institution after beginning with just one student in 1977, leading to an economic impact of more than $3 billion on the state of Florida.

With the focus of ‘students first’ and community service at its core, Keiser weighed in on the undergraduate and graduate degree programs that serve a diverse student body in traditional, nontraditional, and online delivery formats. Through quality teaching, learning, and research, the institution remains committed to providing students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, understanding, and skills necessary for successful employment in a variety of fields including healthcare, cyber security, criminal justice, technology, hospitality, and more. This focus has resulted in Keiser University being one of the largest producers of nurses in the state of Florida and its ranking as number one in the country for Social Mobility by U.S. News and World Report. Also inherent in Keiser University’s mission is service to the community. This service includes community partnerships, involvement with various constituencies, and various continuing education programs.

With a focus on continued growth, Keiser shared that the institution continues to develop meaningful community and global partnerships as it fulfills its role as Florida’s best source for workforce development. With advanced technology initiatives at the forefront, he shared that virtual reality simulation and learning systems, mobile nursing and criminal justice simulation labs are just some of the transformational learning tools on the horizon.

Keiser University also looks forward to the construction of an Aquatic Center at its Flagship Campus, said Keiser. As part of its commitment to children, students, and families, the facility will serve as a community resource as Keiser University fully embraces its pledge to make Every Child a Swimmer. The facility will also provide Keiser University NAIA National Championship swimming teams the opportunity to achieve the highest level of talent and service for which they aspire.
