Keiser University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Shannon McGhee as Chief of Staff for Community Relations and Student Advancement. A seasoned higher education administrator and nonprofit executive, Dr. McGhee brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, student success, and cross-functional leadership, making her a valuable addition to the university’s leadership team.
In this key role, Dr. McGhee will serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the Vice Chancellor of Community Relations and Student Advancement, supporting the planning, execution, and communication of institutional initiatives. She will act as a liaison between the Vice Chancellor’s office and various university departments, external stakeholders, and community partners to enhance collaboration, transparency, and impact. Additionally, she will lead efforts to streamline operations and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the institution.
Dr. McGhee brings extensive leadership experience in both higher education and nonprofit management. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Education & Development at Gulfstream Goodwill Industries in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she led workforce education and student development initiatives. Her career also includes leadership roles at West Virginia State University, Helms College, and Mercer University, where she played a pivotal role in advancing student engagement and institutional success.
Dr. McGhee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Mercer University, a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mercer University.
